Cally is looking right into the camera and working his cuteness more than usual especially with the head tilt. What can I say? He's a pro. I shot this with our digital SLR which I don't have much experience with so I am pretty pleased with my results. The Husband has been giving me some lessons with the fancy camera so hopefully this won't be be my first and last quality shot.

We spent our afternoon with his parents, his grandparents and his auntie. We first went to the RISD museum and then walked down to a nice restuarant for dinner. While we walked through the city between destintations I snapped some pictures. Most were done without really thinking just pointing and shooting. I really like the reflection of the sky and clouds in the windows of the building. I think it came out pretty good for not being set up. Part of the allure could be the hint of blue sky because today is the first day we have seen any sky in about a week. I relly like this building artitectually and it certainly lends itself to be quite photogenic.

Not really, but I thought this was one of the coolest features of our new apartment. The picture itself is hardly perfect but as you can tell I haven't posted in a long time (we were moving) and I am quite rusty. I thought the shot was somewhat interesting and not something you see photographed everyday so here it is.

This is outside looking down Yawkey Way. I took this shot to get the banners on the side of the stadium (note how I cleverly used a perspective which hides the 2004 banner...that one still hurts). When I got home I noticed the guy wearing his glove as a hat was not only in the shot but perfectly centered. You can see the crowd that a game creates. On the street there are a few places to grab a hotdog and/or beer and also the official souvenir shop. All the way at the end of the street acroos from the banner marking gate 'D' is where they tape the pre-game show. Even though I am a Yankee fan I did enjoy my day at the park and glad that I now know where the enemy lives as it were.

I feel I must mention one more that the Red Sox lost 12-3 and as I type my Yankees are in first place.

I took along my camera and was glad to see the cloudy skies as I knew they would take care of any glares that I would potentially have to contend with. This is the right side of the green monster. I would love to see a game fgrom on top of the monster someday, the view must be great. The lights were on the entire game even though it was a 2pm start and I found them quite interesting especially with the dark clouds looming in the background. It was a fun day and being a Yankee fan I rather enjoyed watching the red sox get trounced by the A's by a score of 12-3. While I don't necessarily live by the mantra 'Volvo for life' I think it's a decent shot. I got a few I like so there will be more to come.

Second time through it caught my eye and now here I am posting it. I really enjoy nature photography, more specifically wildlife photography. Unfortunately Providence, Rhode Island is not known for packs of wild game roaming about, so geese and every other mundane animal are really all I can shoot. I do plan on heading to the zoo which is kind of cheating but still it's not geese and squirells right?

Anyway, I love the reflection of the geese in the water, also the movement of water behind the geese makes for a very interesting image. I love that you can see the foot of the first duck mid-flap. I caught just enough of that bush to provide some minimal framing. It was a little bright so the shot is a hair washed out despite my tweaking. The more I shoot in the day time the more I realize that I really need to get a polarizing lens.

I guess it might due to the fact I am slightly obsessed with taking pictures of trees and I liked the look of this young tree the moment I saw it or maybe because I like the sun glistening on the water down below. I took a few shots from the spot on the bridge that is in the picture, but believe or not the shot of the scenic overlook spot is nicer than any shot taken from the scenic overlook itself. Who would have thought photography could be so ironic?

I changed the image to black and while to draw out the lines more also to dull the shininess of the metal. I also did some cropping to limit the negative space around the hubcap, also I do think the grass adds some nice contrast around the border. Anyway, I think it's a pretty cool shot - my attempt at making the mundane into something more interesting.

I must tell you that this goose got so close that I was about ready to turn tail. I am not a fan of geese in large numbers and nothing draws a large crowd of geese faster than a bunch of geese seeing another goose attacking a human (so I hear), but he seemed to be a loner so I quickly took his picture before backing off. I showed this picture to my Husband last night and he said, 'That picture should be in the dictionary under Canadian Goose - that is a perfect example of what a goose looks like'. I guess he is right.
